In the latest edition of our weekly celebrity viewing diary, actor Priyanshu Painyuli shared his love for the Jason Bateman-led Netflix series Ozark, which he calls one of the best shows ever made.
What I’m Watching?
“I’ve gone back to watching Ozark. It’s one of the finest shows ever made. The direction, writing, and character arcs are incredible. I’m currently bingeing the fourth and final season,” Priyanshu said.
Favourite Character & Why I’m Hooked?
For Priyanshu, the charm lies in the complexity of the characters.
“Across many episodes, you are never quite sure what’s going on in Marty’s head, and that’s what kept me hooked. Shows like Ozark aren’t just about plot twists, they’re about connecting with the characters.”
The actor compared the show’s grip on audiences to cult favorites like Game of Thrones.
“Fans stayed invested in Game of Thrones till the last episode because of its characters. Ozark does the same.”
Why I Recommend It?
“Ozark is a show that makes you live with the characters, not just follow the plot. Films are mostly plot-driven, but a good series needs characters who stay with you. For me, it’s right up there with Game of Thrones and Succession.”
Viewing Routine & Binge-Watch Partner
Priyanshu revealed that he watches the series with his wife, actress Vandana Joshi.
“We watch one episode during lunch every day. At night, if we aren’t too busy, we try to squeeze in one or two more. Vandana is my binge-watch partner—we both have similar tastes and love discussing what we watch.”
