Just a day after celebrating her 44th birthday, former Bollywood actor and Miss Universe runner-up Celina Jaitly has returned to the headlines — this time for a serious legal matter. Celina has filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband Peter Haag, accusing him of cruelty, manipulation, abandonment, and physical as well as emotional abuse.
The complaint, filed under the Domestic Violence Act, has been submitted before SC Tadye, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Andheri, for verification and issuance of notice. As per ANI, Celina has sought ₹50 crore in damages, along with compensation for loss of income and property.
Celina’s Public Statement
Taking to Instagram, Celina confirmed the filing of the case. She wrote:
“My priority remains fighting for my soldier brother, fighting for my children’s love, fighting for my dignity. A DV complaint has been filed against all the atrocities, abandonment perpetrated upon me.”
This marks a significant shift in public perception, as Celina had always shared a picture of family harmony on social media.
Who Is Peter Haag?
Peter Haag is an Austrian entrepreneur and hotelier, well-known in luxury hospitality circles across the UAE and Southeast Asia. Over the years, he has worked with high-profile hotel chains in Dubai and Singapore, including Emaar Hospitality Group.
Their Relationship Timeline
Celina and Peter married in 2011, after a whirlwind romance that began in Dubai. They are parents to four children, including two sets of twins:
-
Winston & Viraaj (born 2012)
-
Shamsher & Arthur (born 2017)
-
Tragically, Shamsher passed away shortly after birth due to a congenital heart condition.
-
Celina has previously spoken openly about their “instant connection,” recalling that she felt Peter was “her husband” the moment she first saw him at a family gathering in Dubai.
In earlier interviews, she described their bond as intense and fated, with both experiencing the same inexplicable pull toward each other.
She also clarified — in a 9th anniversary Instagram post — that contrary to rumours, theirs was not a shotgun wedding, and they had legally married in Austria in September 2010 before announcing their pregnancy publicly.
The Parallel Battle: Celina’s Brother in UAE Custody
Amid her personal turmoil, Celina is also fighting for the release of her brother Vikrant, who has been detained in the UAE since September 2024 in an alleged “national security case.”
She recently shared that she is his only surviving immediate relative, and has been emotionally exhausted dealing with his situation.
The UAE court has urged authorities to facilitate communication between the siblings. The next hearing for Vikrant’s case is scheduled for December 4.
Upcoming Court Hearings
-
Domestic Violence Case Hearing: December 12
-
Brother Vikrant’s Case Hearing: December 4
So far, apart from Celina’s statement on Instagram, neither she nor Peter Haag has issued an official public statement about the allegations.
