Nuts are one of the healthiest additions to your daily diet, and walnuts top the list for their powerful nutritional benefits. Nutritionist Deepsikha Jain, a UK-trained expert with a Master’s in Global Public Health Nutrition, recently highlighted the health advantages of eating just three walnuts a day in an Instagram video posted on October 12.
According to Deepsikha, walnuts are packed with omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, fibre, and polyphenols, making them an ideal superfood for heart, brain, and gut health.
She captioned her post, “Walnuts are very powerful nuts which help you build a healthier heart and gut. The skin also has so much fibre and polyphenols. Soak them prior and eat up to 3-4 walnuts daily.”

Anti-Inflammatory Properties
Walnuts contain ellagitannins, strong anti-inflammatory compounds that help fight chronic inflammation. The nutritionist explained that these compounds, along with fibre, play a key role in maintaining a healthy gut microbiome.
Boosts Brain Function
“Eating walnuts can actually boost your brain function because they are rich in omega-3s and polyphenols,” said Deepsikha. These nutrients are known to improve cognitive abilities, memory retention, and even reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.
Improves Heart Health
Walnuts also contribute to better heart health by improving lipid profiles, lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) levels, and regulating blood pressure. Regular consumption may significantly reduce the risk of heart disease.
