Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit has opened up about her personal life in a rare, heartfelt conversation, sharing how she met her husband Dr. Shriram Nene and what truly makes their relationship work. Speaking on Ranveer Allahabadia’s podcast, Madhuri emphasized the importance of career, compatibility, and emotional balance in choosing a life partner.

“I loved my career. I thought if I find the wrong man, all the fun of my life would be gone. I never believed in fairy-tale expectations.”
Despite the external pressure, she stayed focused on her work and avoided rushing into relationships.
How She Met Dr. Nene
The couple’s first meeting happened thanks to her brother, but Madhuri clarified it was not an arranged match.
“We dated for six months before deciding to marry,” she said.
Talking about Dr. Nene, she fondly described him as someone who exudes warmth and sincerity, especially when speaking about his patients.
She shared:
“He is naturally caring, intelligent, well-read, and even passionate about photography. My husband is the biggest blessing of my life—bigger than my career.”
A Relationship Built on Respect and Compatibility
Madhuri laughed when asked if she had cast “magic” on Dr. Nene because of how lovingly he speaks about her.
She said their bond thrives on mutual respect, support, and positivity:

She also recalled a memorable moment during the COVID lockdown, when Dr. Nene shot her music video ‘Candle’ after studying camera techniques to ensure it turned out perfectly.
