Tom Cruise’s latest action flick seems to be struggling to fulfill its mission.

The action star’s first part of Mission Impossible-Dead Reckoning didn’t do as well at the box office as hoped and appears to have only earned $78 million domestically after its five-day opening, according to Variety.

The actor, 61, had to stop the production of the second part due to the actor’s strike.

Tom reprized his role as spymaster Ethan Hunt for the seventh time in Dead Reckoning.

He teamed up with Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson for this latest adventure.

The film received a 96% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and an Audience Score of 94%.

As more word-of-mouth reviews come out, it could lead to a steady stream of moviegoers who will eventually head to theaters.

Globally, the action movie grossed $82.1 million across 70 international territories in its first three days of release.
