Jisoo, a member of the popular K-pop group Blackpink, is reportedly dating actor Ahn Bo-hyun. This news comes as a surprise, as celebrity relationships in South Korea are typically kept secret. However, both stars’ talent agencies have confirmed the relationship, breaking the norm of secrecy.
FN Entertainment, Ahn’s agency, confirmed the relationship to CNN after local media reports surfaced about the couple being seen together in Seoul. The agency stated that Jisoo and Ahn are in the early stages of their relationship and asked fans to support them with a warm gaze.
YG Entertainment, Blackpink’s record label, also released a statement confirming the relationship. This is a rare occurrence in the K-pop industry, where agencies usually keep their idols’ romantic relationships private. However, the industry is slowly moving away from controversial contract terms that prohibit performers from dating other celebrities.
Jisoo, the eldest member of Blackpink at 28 years old, is the only member of the group who has publicly confirmed being in a relationship. There have been constant rumors about the love lives of the other members, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé.
Ahn, on the other hand, is a 35-year-old actor who made his debut with FN Entertainment in 2014. He is well-known for his roles in Korean dramas such as “Itaewon Class,” “Yumi’s Cells,” and “Descendants of the Sun.”
Blackpink debuted in 2016 and quickly rose to global stardom. The group consists of Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé. They became the first Asian act to headline the California-based festival Coachella in 2019 and were named Time magazine’s Entertainer of the Year in the same year, making them only the second K-pop group to receive this title.
