Comedy films were considered incomplete without him. But later Johnny Lever got less offers of films. Johnny Lever was discovered by late actor Sunil Dutt. It was he who got Johnny the first film ‘Dard Ka Rishta’ in 1982.

Moreover, he also played the character of a drunkard without drinking alcohol. Keshto Mukherjee was one of the finest comedians of Indian cinema. Keshto Mukherjee died in 1982.

4. Mahmood Ali

Mehmood Ali was also a singer and filmmaker, but people remember him for his unmatched comedy apart from his acting. People still remember his character and comedy from the film ‘Padosan’. In a career spanning more than 4 decades, Mehmood did more than 300 films. He is also called the ‘National Comedian’ of the country. Mehmood ruled the hearts of people along with the film industry for many years. But he died in his sleep in 2004. Mahmood was ill for some years due to heart related problems and had gone abroad for treatment.

5. Laxmikant Berde

Famous comedian Raju Srivastava, who became a hit with the character ‘Gajodhar Bhaiya’, also started his Bollywood journey with Salman Khan’s film ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, but he got popularity through stand-up act in comedy shows. Raju Srivastava is making his own fire. He did many shows in the country and abroad. Initially, he came into the limelight as Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Humshakal’, but later made a different identity through comedy.
