All That Breathes tells the story of two brothers from Delhi who save their lives by treating injured birds, especially eagles. The documentary shows how the eagles are moving away from Delhi and how environmental pollution is affecting them badly.

Shaunak Sen got Rs 4.16 lakh in reward
The entire jury was impressed by this 88-minute documentary. Shaunak Sen is the second Indian to win the Golden Eye Award. Last year, the award was won by Payal Kapadia’s documentary A Night of Knowing Nothing. Shaunak Sen was given 5 thousand euros (about Rs 4.16 lakh) as an award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Second Indian to win Golden Eye, film dedicated to father
At the same time, Shaunak Sen’s All That Breathes won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance International Film Festival held in January this year. The film is dedicated by Shaunak Sen to his father, who passed away in July 2021. Work on this film started in 2019. Shaunak Sen made his debut in 2016 with the documentary Cities of Sleep. It was also appreciated in film festivals around the world. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has congratulated Shaunak Sen for winning the Golden Eye Award at the Cannes Film Festival for All That Breathes.
Who is Shaunak Sen?
Shaunak Sen is a Delhi-based Director, Video Artist and Cinema Scholar. He is currently pursuing his PhD from JNU. Shaunak Sen made his debut in 2016 with the documentary ‘Cities of Sleep’. It was screened at many other places around the world including New York Indian Film Festival, Taiwan International Film Festival and Mumbai International Film Festival. Shaunak Sen is also an academic writer and his work has appeared in ‘Bioscope’ and ‘Widescreen’. He has also received several fellowships, including Sarai’s Digital and Social Media Fellowship and Films Division of India Documentary Film Fellowship.
