new Delhi: Famous Telugu actor Chalapathi Rao died of a heart attack at the age of 78. Chalapathi Rao played comedy and villain roles in Telugu films. The actor had acted in more than 600 films. According to media reports, the actor and producer apparently suffered a heart attack on Sunday morning and passed away.

According to media reports, Chalapathi Rao’s family said that the last rites of the actor will be performed on December 28 after his daughter returns from America. He said that the body will be kept at Ravi Babu’s house, where celebrities and fans will be able to pay their last respects.

As soon as the news of Chalapathi Rao’s demise spread, his colleagues and fans in the industry turned to social media to express their condolences. Actor and producer Nandamuri Kalyan Ram expressed his condolences to Chalapathi Rao’s family through his official Twitter account.

Films like ‘Kaliyuga Krishnadu’, ‘Kadaparedamma’, ‘Jagannatakam’, ‘Pelante Nurela Panta’, ‘Presidentigari Alludu’, ‘Ardharatri Hatyalu’ and ‘Raktam Chindina Raatri’ were produced under Chalapathi Rao’s production company. He also performed in many TV series. His son Ravi Babu has established himself as a brilliant actor and film producer. Many stars of Tollywood have mourned the death of the actor.
