Mumbai: The Telugu version of the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the film RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, has won the Best Original Song award at the Golden Globe Awards 2023. Everyone is discussing this achievement on social media. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also tweeted on Wednesday congratulating him on winning the award for the song ‘Naatu-Naatu’ and wrote, “Telugu flag is flying high.” Singer Adnan Sami commented on this tweet of CM, after which the war has started between the two on Twitter.

Responding to Adnan Sami’s comment, Information Technology Minister Gudivada Amarnath said that you are no one to pass judgment on his patriotism. We are proud of our language, our culture and our identity. And I declare again, we are Telugus. The minister tweeted and wrote, (Adnan Sami) you are no one to pass judgment on our patriotism. My pride in being a Telugu does not take away from my identity as an Indian.

Adnan Sami, who became an Indian citizen in 2016, found fault in Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s congratulatory message. Congratulating the RRR team for winning the award for the song Naatu Naatu, Reddy tweeted, “The Telugu flag is flying high.”

Responding to this, Sami tweeted. Sami wrote, Telugu flag? You mean the Indian flag right? We are Indians first and so please stop separating ourselves from the rest of the country. Especially internationally, we are a country! This ‘separatist’ attitude is extremely unhealthy as we saw in 1947, thank you Jai Hind.

However, on the tweet of singer Sami, many users defended the CM and criticized him. A user reminded him that being proud of Telugu does not make an Indian less. Responding to trolling users, the singer wrote that the Chief Minister of a great state has all the means, facilities and responsibility to make a politically correct statement.

The CM of Andhra Pradesh, while congratulating on winning the award for the song ‘Naatu-Naatu’ from the film RRR, wrote in a tweet that the Telugu flag is flying high. On behalf of entire Andhra Pradesh, I congratulate the entire team of RRR. We are so proud of you.
