New Delhi: ‘Brahmastra’ released on the big screen last month. Although it received mixed reviews from critics, the film was successful in earning money at the box office. From Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s chemistry to the intriguing storyline, the film managed to garner applause from the audience. Now, the makers are planning to release the film on the OTT platform.

According to media reports, the rights of the film have been acquired by Disney + Hotstar and now it will premiere on 23 October. Although none of the makers or the OTT platform has confirmed it, reports suggest that streaming platforms consider the release date appropriate, as it falls in the middle of Diwali festivities.

‘Brahmastra’ grosses huge at the box office

The first day of Diwali begins on October 22 and with the advent of the festival, the weekend is not expected to see any Bollywood or big budget releases. However, official announcement regarding this is awaited. Coming to Brahmastra, the film remained strong in its third week and has grossed Rs 255.50 crore, which includes all languages ​​collections.

Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. The film also had cameos from superstars like Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, who played some impressive characters in the film. Viewers would know that ‘Brahmastra Part 1 Shiva’ is the first installment of the Brahmastra trilogy. Director Ayan Mukerji had revealed that the second installment will be titled Dev and there are rumors that Ranveer Singh is playing the role. Produced by Dharma Productions, the film was released on the big screen on 9 September.
