In the Bollywood industry, there is a trend of remakes of South’s cinema. The recently released Shahid Kapoor’s film ‘Jersey’, also a remake of the Telugu sports drama, has flopped at the box office. Now filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has given his reaction by tweeting on the Bollywood remakes of South films and has told that dubbing in Hindi is more beneficial than remaking these South films.‘Jersey has a sad ending sign’
Ram Gopal Varma has made several tweets on this issue and has written, ‘The sad ending of the film Jersey in Hindi signals the end of the remake of South. The simple reason for this is that South films like Pushpa, RRR, KGF2 have done better than Hindi dubbed originals, if the content is good. With this, he has shared the tremendous hashtag #DeathOfRemakes, in which he has spoken about the end of the remake.

‘Waste of time, money and hard work’
He further wrote, ‘If Nani’s original film Jersey, made in Telugu, was dubbed in Hindi, then the producers would have spent only 10 lakh rupees, but even after spending 100 crores in the Hindi remake, it was of no use. It was a waste of time, money, effort and face.

‘Now South’s film will not be sold for remake’
He did not sit here silent. He further wrote, ‘After the tremendous success of dubbed films like Pushpa, RRR and KGF 2, no South film with good content will now be sold for remakes as Hindi audiences love both the content and the regional actors.’

‘He doesn’t know how to make a superhit’
He has further said, ‘They neither know how to make superhits nor can they hope to survive on remakes of South films, as no one will sell them the rights of remakes.’

‘It’s good to dub it and release it’
Ram Gopal Varma wrote in his next tweet, ‘The moral of the story is that it is better to dub and release films than to remake them, because it is clear that the audience can go anywhere with any face or any subject. Also fine, as long as they have an interest.

‘Kovid virus to Hindi films’
Ram Gopal Varma has written, ‘Telugu and Kannada films have infected Hindi films like Kovid virus. Hopefully soon Bollywood will come out with a vaccine.
