New Delhi. SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster ‘RRR’ starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR is making tremendous money at the Japanese box office. After an impressive worldwide run, where it grossed $145 million, including $14.5 million in North America, the film was released in Japan on October 21.

Keijo Kabata’s Twin released ‘RRR’ in 209 screens and 31 IMAX screens in 44 cities and prefectures in Japan, the widest for an Indian film in the East Asian nation where Rajinikanth is the most popular Indian star. Rajamouli, Jr NTR and Ram Charan went to Japan on a promotional tour of the film.

According to Twin, RRR collected JPY 73 million ($495,000) in one week, the highest first week collection for an Indian film in Japan. ‘RRR’ opened at number 10 and the top nine films were all local Japanese productions.

Ahead of ‘The Bad Guys’, ‘Spencer’ and ‘Jurassic World Dominion’RRR‘ It was the highest grossing foreign film of this week. Twin anticipates that ‘RRR’ will recover the cost of the release and will enter profit within 10 days of release.
