Mumbai. Oscar 2023 Nomination: SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ and Gujarati film ‘The Last Film Show’ (Chhailo Show) have achieved a major milestone. The film has been shortlisted for the Oscars 2023 Awards. Apart from this, two Indian documentaries ‘All That Breathes’ and ‘The Elephant’s Whispers’ have been selected. These Indian films and documentaries have been selected in different categories. The information about these Indian projects shortlisted for the 95th Oscar Award has been received from the statement issued by the Academy.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the shortlists in 10 categories including Documentary Feature Film, Short Documentary Film, International Feature Film, Make-up and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song) , animated short film, live action short film, sound and visual effects included.

‘Chailo Show’ competes with 14 films of the world

Chhailo Show (Last Film Show), a Gujarati film directed by Paan Nalin, is the story of a young boy from a Saurashtra village who falls in love with cinema. According to the official website of the Academy Awards, “Chailo Show” will compete with 14 other films, including “Argentina 1985” (Argentina), “Decision to Leave” (South Korea), “All Quiet on the Western Front” (Germany), “Close” (Belgium) and “The Blue Kaftan” (Morocco).

‘RRR’ competes with ‘Wakanda Forever’ and ‘Avatar 2’

The song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR’ has been shortlisted in the Best Music (Original Song) category. The song will also be competing against 14 other songs, including “Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)” from “Avatar: The Way of Water”, “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, “Guillermo del ‘Ciao Papa’ from ‘Torros Pinocchio’ and ‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘Carolina’ from ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’.
