The discussion of the 68th National Film Awards 2022 is everywhere. Awards were given in many categories in the award function, after which the film industry is just this. A Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) film titled ‘Sarmounting Challenge’ has won the Best Promotional Film Award (Non Feature Film) at the ’68th National Film Awards 2022′, it was announced today. According to an official press release, ‘The 28-minute long film deals with the challenges faced by DMRC during its third phase. In the third phase, DMRC constructed about 190 km of new lines and faced many challenges. In the film, the areas of Delhi are passing through a very busy road crossroads and most notably the biggest station of Delhi Metro is being constructed.

With the help of new age graphics and engineers who have executed a difficult project, the film extensively highlights the work done by DMRC to expand the metro in NCR. It added that the production of the film itself was a daunting task as the challenges ahead had to be thoroughly researched with the help of a team of officers. After this, an hour of recording of interviews of engineers was to be done.

Best film made in 2012
To make the film look realistic, multiple footages had to be shot at different locations. While the construction of the corridors continued, every video of its construction was captured on camera. It took a year to make the film with editing and post-production. The film is also a must-see document for transit rail engineers and researchers as it throws light on several issues. This is the second time that a film made by DMRC has got so much recognition. The film also won the National Award in the category of ‘Best Promotional Film Non-Feature Films’ in 2012 for the engineering challenges faced by Delhi Metro during its Phase 2.

‘The Dream Fulfield – Memories of the Engineering Challenges’ won the Best Promotional Film Award in 2012. The film was earlier screened at the Indian Panorama of the 52nd Indian International Film Festival (IFFI) to be held in Goa from November 20 to 28, 2021. Making such films is a really difficult task. DMRC has always endeavored to do its work in the best possible manner so that its records remain in the public domain for the generations to come.
