We produce more films than any other country. Fans worship film stars no less than any deity and there used to be a huge crowd of people at the premiere, but now there is silence in the cinema halls. People associated with the film business are considering it as a serious problem.

One by one, the way Bollywood movies are flopping at the box office, it has become a matter of concern. There is a constant shortage of audience in cinemas. Mumbai’s Veteran Theater owner Manoj Desai told AFP that ‘the series that started from the Corona period has not been able to return to its old form even after lifting the Kovid ban. This is the worst phase ever. The condition is that the screening of some films had to be canceled because the public was not there. At the same time, media analyst Karan Taurani says that ‘only a few films have done business in more than 50 Bollywood films released in the last one year’.

Some films were released directly on OTT during the Corona period, while many came on OTT after a few weeks of release in theaters. Watching movies on OTT is also much cheaper than the theatre. The theater owners have to bear the brunt of which. The condition is that India’s two largest multiplex operators PVR and INOX have announced the merger.
