When Amitabh Bachchan formed his own company, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL) and reached the verge of bankruptcy after its sinking, Amar Singh helped him. Amar Singh was a friend of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and was the leader of his Samajwadi Party. When Mulayam Singh extended his hand of friendship to Big B, burdened with Amar Singh’s favors, he did not delay in stopping him.

When there were allegations of deteriorating law and order in UP under Mulayam Singh’s rule, Amitabh said in an advertisement – there is power in UP, because there is less crime here. Amitabh had to face a lot of criticism for this. Yet he did this for the sake of Mulayam Singh’s friendship.
