Alia Bhatt will next be seen in Darlings, a dark comedy in which she plays a woman who takes revenge on her husband after a domestic abuse. In a recent interview, Alia told how women are taught to tolerate bad things in the society and how they had to face sexism on many occasions in the film industry as well.
Alia heard sexist comment
When asked if she has been the subject of casual sexism like Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, Alia told Mojo Story, “I think from time to time I have encountered casual sexism. Many times I didn’t pay attention. When I think back now because I’m so much more aware of it, it makes so much sense that ‘Oh my god, that was a sexist comment. So now I am very sensitive. Sometimes my friends say ‘what happened to you, why are you so aggressive?
Aaliya gets angry on hearing this.
The actress said, ‘But it is not about her, people say don’t be so sensitive, you are being so sensitive, have you had periods.’ I say, ‘I am not getting sensitive and even if I am on my period, then what? You were also born because of this because women have periods.’
Your bra should not be on the bed.
He further said, ‘I get very angry when people say these random things. Things like ‘Your bra shouldn’t be on the bed, hide your bra. Hey, why hide it? It’s clothes, you’re shining your underwear, so I’m not saying anything. It’s not that all this happened to me but I understand how you as a woman should hide a lot of things.’
