Mumbai. Aditya Chopra, son of Bollywood legend director Yash Chopra, created a stir with his very first film. The film ‘Dil Wale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, which came in the year 1995, was the biggest hit film of the entire 90s. Made with just Rs 4 crore, the film earned Rs 89 crore in India. It earned Rs 13 crore in foreign countries. The songs, dialogues and scenes of this film are still remembered. ‘Maratha Mandir’ is running in the theater for 27 years.

The film’s iconic dialogue ‘Ja Simran Ja… Jee Le Apni Zindagi..’ evokes a lot of applause. But it was not easy for Kajol to run a race every 20 minutes in the scorching sun, railway track and sound of dhak dhak. In an interview given to Huffington Post, Kajol says, ‘It was not easy to do the train scene. We had to do more than 10 retakes for this scene. Running every 20 minutes on the railway track in the hot sun was tough, and we also had to pay attention to the expression. My hair used to get scattered by the wind throughout the train. Kajol was also improving her acting during this film.

Kajol was taught to be shy

During the shooting of the film, choreographer Saroj Khan teaches Kajol to shy in Behind the Scene. Even for the train scene, Kajol was first given a demo by director Aditya Chopra himself. After this Kajol has acted in the same style. During the shooting of the film, no one had any idea that the biggest hit film of the whole country was being made. The climax of the film was shot for three days at Apta Railway Station in Mumbai.

In an interview given to Marie Claire, Kajol says, ‘The shooting of the film went on for three days at the station. I was crying for three consecutive days. My eyes had become red and slightly heavy. I was wearing a heavy outfit (lehenga). Shahrukh Khan told in this interview that ‘I did not know that the result of this film would be so great. At the time of this scene, I had no idea that the fans would give it so much love. At that time, I would have preferred to hold a gun in the film than holding Simran’s hand.

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise was the first choice, not Shahrukh Khan
Aditya Chopra had assisted in several films with his father before making his first film. After this, after learning the nuances, he had prepared tremendously for his first film. But at the time of the script, Aditya Chopra wanted to cast Tom Cruise for Shah Rukh Khan’s character Raj Malhotra. Because it was an Indo American affair, such casting could have been done. However, Aditya’s father Yash Chopra flatly denied this. According to IMDB, this character was offered to Saif Ali Khan. But Saif Ali Khan rejected this character.
